Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 officially hits shelves on July 11. The game features 32 professional skateboarders and brings back Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, and Rodney Mullen, and also marks the return of all of the iconic levels.

However, there is one key difference from the originals. The free-roam career mode from Pro Skater 4 has been replaced by a two-minute run, where players attempt to complete as many challenges as possible, similar to the first three titles. In saying that, the development team managed to re-imagine an iconic character from Pro Skater 4 with a different but familiar voice actor.

Jack Black made his debut in THPS 1+2 and voiced Officer Dick. He served as both an obstacle and an unlockable skater, and Iron Galaxy confirmed in an interview with Variety that he is returning in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.

In THPS 3+4, Black voices Officer Dick and Dick’s U.K. twin, Constable Richard.

“We can’t tell all these highly intricate stories in the game, but behind the scenes, we’re thinking, this is an interesting evolution of Officer Dick’s midlife crisis of hating the skater,” game director Kurt Tillmanns Tillmanns said.

“In the last one, he’s just on this high school ground, and trying to yell at the skaters, control the skaters. And now he’s evolved, as his power trip has gone into becoming the campus security sheriff of a college. We wanted to bring him back and put our own stamp on it in that way, and we’re really happy that he was absolutely game to do that.”

Black is set to appear on multiple levels and cause chaos.
