Fans of eerie platforming horror got a haunting treat today as Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games unveiled a brand-new gameplay trailer for Little Nightmares III, the highly anticipated continuation of the beloved nightmare-fueled series.

The trailer offers the clearest look yet at the game’s chilling new setting, terrifying enemies, and the unique co-op dynamic that sets it apart from its predecessors.
A New Duo, A New Nightmare
Unlike the solitary journeys of Six and Mono in previous entries, Little Nightmares III centers on two new protagonists: Low and Alone. Players will guide this fragile pair through the spine-chilling realm of The Spiral, a world even more twisted and dangerous than before. Each character brings a distinct item-based ability to survive—Low wields a bow, while Alone carries a wrench—introducing new puzzle and combat mechanics rooted in cooperation.
While Little Nightmares has always flirted with themes of trust, fear, and survival, the shift to a co-op focus deepens those ideas. Whether playing solo with AI or teaming up in online multiplayer, survival now depends on coordination, timing, and teamwork.
A Glimpse Into The Spiral
The new gameplay trailer plunges viewers into several haunting environments, including a crumbling desert town, an abandoned carnival echoing with laughter, and a shadow-infested clock tower. Each zone is ruled by grotesque, unpredictable "Residents," with the trailer teasing one particularly disturbing foe: a towering marionette master who manipulates his environment with invisible strings.
The environments, as always, feel like living nightmares—claustrophobic, grotesque, and suffused with that signature handcrafted aesthetic. But there’s a sharper sense of urgency this time around. Chase sequences are faster, puzzles more dangerous, and death is never more than a few steps away.
A Familiar Fear, Reimagined
Though Little Nightmares III is being developed by Supermassive Games—known for Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology—the spirit of the franchise remains intact. From the warped scale of the world to the sound design that amplifies every creak and breath, this is still the deeply atmospheric horror puzzle-platformer fans love.
The trailer makes it clear: Little Nightmares III isn’t just retreading familiar ground. It’s pushing the series forward, exploring deeper emotional and mechanical complexity without sacrificing its unsettling charm.
Release Window and Platforms
Little Nightmares III is slated for release in 2025 and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. While fans were hoping for a firm release date, today's trailer confirms that development is progressing steadily—and the game is looking more horrifying (and beautiful) than ever.
With this new glimpse into the dark, it’s safe to say the nightmare is far from over. And for fans of tension, tragedy, and twisted tales, that’s very good news.
