Ark: Survival Ascended, Balatro, and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun have been announced as the free PlayStation Plus games for all subscribers for May 2025. All three games will be available starting on May 6.

As always, the free PlayStation Plus games will be available at anytime after adding them to your library. The only caveat is that you have to have an active membership.
The new games will be available through June 2.
May 2025’s Free PlayStation Plus Games
Ark: Survival Ascended is a remaster of 2015’s original Ark: Survival Evolved. The game was first released in early access back in fall 2023, and has since received numbers updates from developer Studio Wildcard.
Balatro was an out-of-nowhere success in 2024, and even was voted on by Insider Gaming’s community as the Indie Game of the Year. Lastly, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun was released in May 2023 and sees you play as Malum Caedo on a mission to find a shard from a mysterious power source.
If you haven’t picked up April’s free PlayStation Plus games, there’s still time. Subscribers have until Monday, May 5 to grab RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory.
In addition to free games for May, Sony recently added eight new games to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium subscribers. Those new games include Blue Prince, Hogwarts Legacy, and EA Sports PGA Tour, among others. It’s not all good news for gamers, however, as it was also revealed that over 20 games are set to leave the catalog in the near future.
