Netflix Unveils ‘Wednesday’ Season 2: A Darker, Deeper Dive into the Addams Legacy

Netflix has officially announced the return of its hit series Wednesday, with Season 2 set to premiere in two parts: the first on August 6 and the second on September 3, 2025 . The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer and a haunting new poster featuring Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams with mascara-streaked cheeks and the ever-faithful Thing perched on her shoulder, captioned, “The wait has been torture” .
Season 2 promises to delve deeper into the macabre world of Nevermore Academy, with Wednesday navigating new mysteries and challenges. The teaser hints at her return to the academy, interactions with familiar faces like Enid (Emma Myers) and Tyler (Hunter Doohan), and the introduction of new characters portrayed by Steve Buscemi and Billie Piper .
Notably, the entire Addams family will have a more prominent presence this season, with Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia), Luis Guzmán (Gomez), and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley) joining as regular cast members . The season also boasts guest appearances by Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, and Joanna Lumley.

Filmed in Ireland, the new season aims to amplify the show’s gothic aesthetic, with co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough describing the setting as adding a “sense of timeless beauty, wonder, and epic spectacle” to the series .
