With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 approaching, we now have the tech specs for the upcoming console’s Pro Controller. It has the same battery life as the previous one but charges faster.

Switch 2 Pro Controller Charges Almost Twice as Fast
As spotted by Nintendo Life, the official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Technical Specifications are now live on their website. The Switch 2 Pro Controller’s battery life is the same as the original Switch’s, approximately 40 hours. However, the upcoming console’s Pro Controller will charge much faster, taking just approximately 3.5 hours for a full charge, whereas the previous Pro Controller needed 6 hours to do so.
The Switch 2 Pro Controller’s battery capacity has decreased to 1070 mAh from the previous controller’s 1300 mAh. However, that doesn’t affect battery life, as both controllers provide the same 40 hours of use.
There are also some other upgrades. For example, the Switch 2 Pro Controller features some fresh additions to its body, such as the GL/GR buttons located on the back, and the new C button, which enables players to access their newly launched feature, GameChat. Lastly, the Switch 2 Pro Controller now features HD Rumble 2.
The Pro controller is almost 10 grams lighter than the previous controller, coming in at 235g. Players should note that previous Pro Controllers are compatible with the upcoming console. However, the feature that allows you to wake the console by pressing the home button will not be available.
