Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the discontinuation of its PlayStation Stars loyalty program, which has been active since 2022. The program allowed players to earn points and digital collectibles by completing specific activities. Effective immediately, new memberships are no longer accepted, and existing members can continue to earn rewards until July 23, 2025. The program will be fully terminated on November 2, 2026 .

May 21, 2025: No new members can join the PlayStation Stars program.
July 23, 2025: Final date to earn points and digital collectibles.
November 2, 2026: Complete shutdown of the program; unredeemed points will expire.
💬 Sony's Statement
Grace Chen, Vice President of Network Advertising, Loyalty, and Licensed Merchandise at Sony, stated:
"Since launching the program, we've learned a lot from evaluating the types of activities our players respond best to, and as a company, we are always evolving with player and industry trends. Through this evaluation, we have decided to refocus our ... ."
🎁 Impact on Members
Current members will retain access to their earned digital collectibles even after the program ends. However, points must be redeemed before they expire on November 2, 2026. Members who choose to cancel their participation will forfeit all accumulated points and will not be able to rejoin the program .
🔮 Looking Ahead
While Sony has not detailed plans for a replacement, the company indicated that it is exploring new ways to engage with its player community and evolve its loyalty initiatives. Players are encouraged to redeem their points and enjoy their digital collectibles before the program concludes.
