Ayaneo NEXT II lands as a maximalist answer to the handheld wars, a hulking Windows machine built to out-muscle the Steam Deck, ROG Ally and Legion Go in one swing.
The device revolves around a custom 9.06-inch OLED native landscape display with 2400×1504 resolution and a variable refresh that can climb to 165Hz, pushing image clarity and motion well into gaming-laptop territory. Under the hood sits AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 Strix Halo APU, paired with dual-fan cooling and an 85W TDP ceiling, positioning the NEXT II as one of the most powerful handhelds ever announced. A colossal 115Wh internal battery turns the unit into an all-in-one powerhouse, avoiding the detachable-pack compromises seen on rival Strix Halo handhelds, even if weight and real-world runtimes remain open questions.

Controls go full enthusiast: Hall-effect sticks and triggers, a floating 8-way D-pad, dual “TouchTAPMagic” smart touchpads, four geometric rear buttons and four extra function keys bring pad, mouse and macro energy into one portable shell. Ayaneo leans into its premium identity with ergonomic oversized grips, front-facing stereo speakers, a luminous AYANEO nameplate and the evolved AYASpace software layer to make Windows feel closer to a console UI.
The NEXT II reads like a flex from a brand chasing the “true flagship” handheld crown, trading portability and price transparency for spectacle, raw performance and an OLED showcase that is clearly designed to turn heads on timelines.
