the first major update coming to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, isn’t all that sizeable

If you’ve been hurting for a way to make travelling around on your horse much easier, you’ll want to keep an eye open for this update.

Auto-Follow, Finally

The most recent Assassin’s Creed titles have had one quality-of-life mechanic that has made it much easier to traverse their expansive open-world maps.

That feature is auto-follow, which allows you to press a button when riding a horse to have your noble steed automatically follow the fastest path to your objective.

For some reason, Ubisoft neglected to include the mechanic in Assassin’s Creed Shadows when the game was released, but the first major patch for the title is set to bring it into play.

I can’t stress how happy this makes me. I’ve been neglecting fast travel a little in Assassin’s Creed Shadows in favour of navigating the beautiful open world via horseback, and this feature will now make things much more efficient. I can press a button, sit back, and watch the cinematics unfold as I pound through Feudal Japan atop a stallion.

It’s annoying that it took Ubisoft two weeks post-launch to add a feature that should have been included since day one, but I’m still here for it, so it’s fine.

I’m hoping there is plenty still in store for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In recent years, any DLC released by Ubisoft to expand Assassin’s Creed games has been stellar.
