Warframe developers are eager to release a Nintendo Switch 2 port; however, a backlog of dev kits has delayed them.

Warframe developers recently hosted TennoCon 2025, where they announced a slew of new content and features for the game. Warframe confirmed ‘The Old Peace’ update, which includes new enemies and allies, remastered operators, new cinematic quest and much more. During the event, the developers also addressed the Switch 2 port.
Warframe Developers Address Switch 2 Port Delay
According to a report by Eurogamer, Digital Extremes CEO Steve Sinclair recently addressed the Warframe Switch port. Sinclair stated that their tech team is eager to “take advantage of the [Switch 2’s] high-speed cores and the other really cool features of it”; however, the ‘backlog’ of dev kits is the only thing stopping them.
The developers “definitely have plans”, and they will “be doing a custom build for Warframe” as soon as they can get their hands on a dev kit. Sinclair also mentioned that Warframe’s Switch 2-specific build will “really push it to its limits, see what it can do”. “Faster load times” is one of the features that was mentioned, but “there’s a lot of stuff” they can do with the extra cores.
Warframe is not the only game that hasn’t received a Nintendo Switch 2 dev kit. A report from last week reveals that new game announcements for the Nintendo Switch 2 have been impacted, with many developers still waiting on an update from the officials.
In other news, GameStop’s controversial Switch 2 stapler sold for $250,000 at auction. Additionally, the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program has returned. What are your thoughts on Warframe’s Switch 2 port being delayed by a ‘backlog’ of dev kits?
