It has been claimed that Activision is seeing positive results in Call of Duty: Warzone since the grand return of Verdansk. The map has certainly added something special to the game since dropping mere days ago, and many fans were critically aware of the ‘make or break’ circumstances of the map’s reintroduction.

According to a prominent Call of Duty leaker, Activision and Raven Software are ‘excited’ about how good Warzone’s player count is, and it’s popping off so much that it has led to an uplift in Black Ops 6 sales.
What They Wanted
It was suggested a while ago that Warzone would start being phased out if the return of Verdansk didn’t yield solid enough results. Given the expectation that the map would have a ‘Fortnite OG’ vibe in terms of a resurgence, it became obvious that Activision’s studios had a lot riding on the map coming back.
In a post on social media from TheGhostofHope, it has been claimed that Activision is very happy with the results already.
Activision/Raven Software are excited with the numbers they’ve seen for players returning and playing Warzone after the launch of Verdansk. The update has exceeded expectations.Xbox Game Pass/PS Store numbers are “off the charts” compared to what they were. They have even seen an uplift in BO6 sales and downloads because of the update.

This is nothing but good news for fans of the popular battle royale title, which, once upon a time, sat at the top of the table.
The removal of Verdansk in December 2021 was long heralded as a mistake, especially as it was replaced with Caldera, a sucky map that nobody liked (including me). That’s probably a hot take – don’t quote me on that.
Verdansk is back and – in many ways – better than ever. If Activision is on the uptick and noticing solid growth, it might be that we get Warzone hanging around for just a few more years.
