xQc announces $250k Marvel Rivals xQc Invitational with top streamers

Set to take place on May 9, the event will feature top streamers competing in Marvel Rivals.

The Canadian content creator somewhat randomly dropped the news during his April 20 livestream, explaining that he is finally able to run tournaments again.

“Chat, I’ve been working on this for months now, and finally I can kind of, like, announce it,” xQc said. “Chat, May 9, put it on your schedule: xQc Marvel [Rivals] Invitational, $250k prize pool.”

The tournament’s prize pool is being co-funded by xQc himself and Marvel Rivals, with X saying, “I’m putting in a lot of my money in the prize pool and Marvel is also in the prize pool. Mega tournament. Massive things. xQc Invitational. Real! Actually real and true, it’s finally happening.

“I’ll be able to host my own tournament for the first time in forever. So, that’s happening 100%, locked in.”

xQc’s Marvel Rivals tournament details

Known for his high-energy persona, which has made him one of the most-watched streamers for more than five years, xQc is no stranger to massive events.

After rising to fame in Overwatch as a professional player for the Dallas Fuel, he transitioned into full-time content creation where he quickly became one of the most-watched streamers on Twitch, and on Kick, where he signed a historic $100 million deal in 2023.

The Marvel Rivals xQc Invitational will feature other well-known streamers and content creators, though the exact lineup is yet to be announced. What sets this apart is xQc’s full creative control — he’ll not only organize but potentially compete as well as provide commentary.

“Yeah, it’s going to be a bunch of, like, other streamers and other people, and I’m running it. I’m running the show this time.”

“I hope I can make it a good, balanced, and cool event. And I might play in it and cast it. I might do a kind of dual production thing where, like, I’m trying to win as well. And if I’m out or not, I can cast the other games as well. So, yeah, I’m just kind of doing both,” he explained.
