The game is being developed by The Coalition in partnership with Disbelief and Sumo Interactive.

Launching on August 26, 2025, Gears of War: Reloaded will be available for $39.99 and will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. The game will also be available via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

“It’s about the stories we’ve told, the friendships we’ve built, and the unforgettable moments we’ve shared together,” The Coalition studio head Mike Crump said. “With Gears of War: Reloaded, we’re opening that door to more players than ever.”

Gears of War: Reloaded will feature 4K resolution and up to 120 frames per second (FPS). The game will also support cross-play and cross-progression on all platforms.

Regarding cross-play, the game doesn’t require a Microsoft Account to play. However, to get the full cross-platform experience such as cross-progression, you’ll need an account.

Other features of the game include HDR support, Dolby Vision and 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos, 7.1.4 3D Spatial Audio, Variable Refresh Rate, 4K assets and remastered textures, enhanced post-processing visual effects, improved shadows and reflections, super resolution with improved anti-aliasing, and zero loading screens during Campaign.

Speaking of the campaign, the game’s frame rate is limited to just 60 FPS in the mode. Multiplayer is where players can experience the game at 120 FPS.

Lastly, those who own the digital version of 2015’s Gears of War: Ultimate Edition can upgrade to Reloaded at no extra cost.

“Players will gain immediate access to all post-launch downloadable content at no additional cost — this includes the bonus Campaign act, all multiplayer maps and modes, and a full roster of classic characters and cosmetics unlockable through progression,” Crump adds.
