NoFallDamage.net Launches Noir Interactive Studios, Unveils Debut Game: A Lovely Way To Burn

In a bold move that bridges editorial voice and creative execution, the team behind gaming culture hub NoFallDamage.net has officially launched their own independent development house: Noir Interactive Studios. Their first title, A Lovely Way To Burn, is already generating serious buzz in the indie gaming scene.

Described as an Action/Adventure Souls-like Hack & Slash, A Lovely Way To Burn is a brutal, story-rich descent into a demonic underworld — both literal and emotional. Players will step into the scorched boots of Lucy, a dark-skinned heroine with ember-glowing skin and a past forged in trauma and vengeance. Inspired by classic mythologies and infernal symbolism, Lucy is the daughter of a maid who was impregnated by the Devil. Upon confronting her father at her mother’s deathbed, she embarks on a journey through Hell to retrieve her mother’s soul and send it to heaven.

According to sources inside Noir Interactive Studios, the game will feature intense combat, deeply layered narrative elements, and uniquely stylized visuals that echo the grim intensity of titles like Bloodborne and Dante’s Inferno, but with an unapologetically Black and mytho-feminist perspective.

“We’ve always loved covering indie games — now we get to make one,” said the NoFallDamage editorial team in a joint statement. “Noir Interactive is about building strange, emotional, and brutally beautiful experiences from the ground up.”

The team promises A Lovely Way To Burn will not only push genre boundaries but also carve out new ground for underrepresented stories and characters in gaming.

No release date has been announced yet, but early concept art and teasers have already begun circulating, with Lucy’s transformation from fledgling fighter to fully-armored infernal warrior earning comparisons to some of gaming’s most iconic protagonists.
