Resident Evil 9 Teased through ‘IX’ Wooden Frames in New Video

As spotted by Dusk Golem on X (formerly Twitter), the Capcom dev team for the RE4 remake posted a new video yesterday, thanking the fans for helping them reach 10 million players. Many fans noticed peculiar wooden signs throughout the video, all of which appeared to form the Roman numeral ‘IX’ when placed horizontally. Fans think this is a clear tease for Resident Evil 9 from Capcom, and maybe an announcement could arrive soon.

The ‘IX’ wooden frames don’t appear just once in RE4, but rather a couple of times in different forms, such as signs, nameplates, and more. The last one, however, is glaringly obvious, as it appears right towards the end of the video, next to the RE4 logo, with the words ‘Thank You For Playing’ inscribed on it.

The last time we heard about Resident Evil 9 was from Dusk Golem the previous year, where he mentioned that players should not expect the project until 2025 or 2026. The leaker had also noted that the game will be set on an island in the “Southeast Asia Sea, inspired by Singapore”. Moreover, Capcom also confirmed last year that a new Resident Evil game is in development.

However, players should take all this information with a grain of salt, as there is no official confirmation from the developers yet. What are your thoughts on Capcom teasing Resident Evil 9 in the new RE4 Remake celebration video?
