The early success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has continued as the game has passed a major sales milestone, just days after its full release.

In a post on social media on Friday morning, the game’s official account revealed that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has surpassed 500,000 copies sold. At $50, developer Sandfall Interactive is looking at roughly $25 million in early revenue for the first game from a studio founded in 2020.
“A milestone for us, reached sooner than we’d ever imagined,” the post reads. “Thank you all.”
Given the shadow drop of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on April 22, many wondered if it could possibly hurt the launch of the game. Based on the early returns, that doesn’t appear to have been the case.
In addition to the game’s sales success, it has also seen critical acclaim. Nearly four months into the year, the game is the highest-rated game released thus far per Metacritic.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s also included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
