Several new images of Plants vs Zombies 3 have leaked online thanks to a player survey which asked players their opinions on new features coming to the game.

The leak was uploaded to the PlantsvsZombies subreddit, where images showed that the survey was asking players what they found the most compelling when it came to features and characters.
Taking the Fusion Mod
As pointed out by some players in the subreddit, it seems like the developers want to go down the route of fusions in their next game, which will seen 2 players (or perhaps more?) fuse together to create new plants.
The fusion gimmick comes from a Plants vs Zombies mod, which has seen a lot of success within the community.
Whether or not fusions will make it in to the final game is unclear, but the subreddit seems to be somewhat polarised on if they should be included or not.
“So they really are going ahead with the fusion gimmick in the international version, huh? I’m not opposed to it, but popcap are clearly taking inspiration from the fans here,” said user ReasonableAdvert.
In response, user Chemical-Cat said, “The problem is that the fusions end up being like, not very fun or interesting.”
Plants vs Zombies 3: Welcome to Zombrubia released in January 2024, but was taken offline in October of the same year for a “major overhaul”. At the time of writing, no official new announce date has been set.
What do you think of the direction of Plants vs Zombies 3?
